What is HealthTrans?
HealthTrans is a pharmacy benefits administrator, providing tools and services to more efficiently manage pharmacy benefits programs. The HealthTrans' solutions help pharmacy benefit providers optimize and administer their drug benefits programs. We provide web-enabled applications, clinical expertise and services to manage the onerous tasks of pharmacy network administration, claims processing, financial reporting, as well as manufacturers' rebate processing and reporting.

What's the difference between a Pharmacy Benefits Administrator (PBA) and a Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM)?
A PBM is a company who helps benefit payers manage their pharmacy benefits piece. PBM's typically control pricing, formularies, negotiated rebates, plan design and changes. HealthTrans, alternatively, provides tools and services that let benefit payers control their own pharmacy benefit. HealthTrans provides all the same services of a PBM but our systems and services put our client back in control. Our technology is flexible, allowing instantaneous plan design and change, so our clients can easily model and modify plans to meet their changing needs.

What sets HealthTrans apart from traditional PBM models?
HealthTrans optimizes all aspects of pharmacy benefit administration and focuses on best practices, value based formularies, network and plan design, giving benefit payers strategic business advantages, such as lower pharmacy costs and increased flexibility to respond to changing market requirements.

Does the HealthTrans system allow me to implement plan design changes?
Yes. The HealthTrans system is extremely flexible and user friendly. Our clients and/or their HealthTrans Account Manager can easily change benefit plan design, formulary choices, and more, all the way down to the patient level.

What products and services does HealthTrans provide?

Does HealthTrans offer mail order Rx?
Yes, HealthTrans offers mail order options for clients who wish to offer home delivery. Many clients find they save their enrollees money and increase their profits by offering mail order options.

How many retail pharmacies are currently in the HealthTrans network?
HealthTrans has over 60,000 participating retail pharmacies in our network. HealthTrans can also accommodate national, preferred, customized, discount, local, and pre-existing networks, as required by the client.

Will the HealthTrans system work with my legacy systems?
HealthTrans' systems and services complement existing medical claims and pharmacy systems, and other legacy systems.

Does HealthTrans offer additional advantages for the public sector?
Yes, HealthTrans provides governmental best drug pricing, assisting Medicaid and Medicare entities.
